Shuaib-Babata of the Department of Materials & Metallurgical Engineering is a faculty member at the professorial cadre and was acting Head of Department (2018–2020). He has served/is serving as Member, Admission Committee Member (2016 – 2022); FET Dress Code and Disciplinary Committee Member/Chairman; Chairman/Member Quality Assurance; Chairman, FET Environment Committee, etc. He has more than eighty articles published at many academic publication outlets, local, national and international levels. He is a Registered Engineer with the Council of Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria; a Fellow of the Material Science and Technology Society of Nigeria, Fellow, Institute of Classic Entrepreneurship, Nigeria, Global Academy of Entrepreneurship & Innovation, and Academy of Technology Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship; Member, Nigerian Society of Engineers; International Association of Engineers; Nigerian Metallurgical Society; American Society of Mechanical Engineers, National Society of Black Engineers; and Nigerian Institution of Engineering Management, etc. He is a National Officer and Governing Board Member of MSN, NIMME and ATIME.
