I am Ismaila Idowu Ahmed. I was educated at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria and University of Manchester, Manchester, United Kingdom for my undergraduate and postgraduate degrees respectively. I joined the service of University of Ilorin in 2013 and have since risen through the ranks to an Associate Professor. I was acting Head of the Department of Materials and Metallurgical Engineering between 2020-2022. I enjoy teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate students including mentoring. I participated severally in Community Based Experience Scheme of Faculty for final year students as bridge builder between gown and town. Lastly, I am quite meticulous about contributing to the frontier of knowledge through research and development. My research activities on materials performance and degradation have gained sponsorship from local, national, and international funding bodies to whom I remained grateful.
